Celebrating Brazilian Day

This weekend we attended a Brazilian Day street fair and parade, in one of San Diego's most popular coastal communities, Pacific Beach. The event is a celebration of Brazil's Independence Day, which took place on September 7, 1822.

The objective of the festival was to provide family friendly entertainment and bring a taste of Brazilian culture, music and cuisine. There were even a few carnival rides for the kids and many performers. My purpose for going was mostly to see the parade, as I love how they showcase so much variety in a short amount of time.

Festivals are certainly a big Summer activity around here and there are many to choose from, but this is one of the few we've made it to this year. The day was quite overcast and breezy, which is yet another reminder to squeeze in as many Summer activities as possible before it's too late! Here are a few pics from the event:
