Special Holiday Treats

As you take a break from your Christmas shopping, you may stop off and find an assortment of holiday treats at various food chains. Here are a few worth making the special effort to try...

You may recall, during the month of October we posted the specialty doughnuts that Krispy Kreme released for the Fall season. Well, now they are switching gears and providing an all-new Christmas themed variety. Included in these is one shaped like a snowman, but the highlight is their Gingerbread Crunch Doughnut. They are still carrying their Pumpkin Spice doughnut through the season as well, which is definitely one of their best!

East coasters might, likewise, be interested in visiting their local Dunkin' Donuts for their Peppermint Mocha Latte and Chocolate Mint Donut, along with their regular assortment of sprinkled donuts and hot chocolate.

At Denny's, look for milkshakes and hot drinks topped with whipped cream that is blended with peppermint and dotted white chocolate sprinkles. Along with peppermint drinks, Denny's has also introduced Pancake Puppies, bite-sized pancakes filled with peppermint white chocolate sprinkles. They're then rolled in powdered sugar and served with warm syrup for dipping. Prices start $1.99, depending on location. You can also try them for free with any purchase between now at 12/11/09 with this COUPON!

If you're looking for other new holiday flavors, we suggest you give Starbuck's latest holiday beverage creations a try. The new Caramel Brulée Latte is a decadent espresso drink featuring the rich, creamy taste of a classic caramel dessert. Also available is their decadent holiday favorite, Peppermint Mocha, returning for another season of merriment with its delicious combination of cool mint and bittersweet chocolate. And not to be left out, their much-loved Gingerbread Latte is also making a comeback with its original recipe of traditional flavors and spices.

Then there are the milkshakes! Unfortunately for many, McDonald's is not serving up their annual eggnog milkshake, but you can find one that is equally delicious at Jack In The Box! Made with real vanilla ice cream, egg nog flavoring, whipped topping and a maraschino cherry.

Chick-fil-a is offering their decadent Peppermint Chocolate Chip milk shake. Made from cream Icedream, it is topped off with whipped cream and one crucial cherry.

And Arby's has their Mint Chocolate Swirl Milk Shake, a festive blend of chocolate and mint flavors and swirled with a ribbon of chocolate syrup.
